Danielle Gerber of DMG Designs

Danielle Goulette

Metalsmith | Jeweler

Nestled in the serene mountains of western Maine, Danielle Goulette is the creative force behind DMG Designs—a one-woman metal and jewelry studio. With a BFA in Metalsmithing from the Maine College of Art, she has honed her craft of silversmithing to create unique pieces that celebrate the beauty of nature.

Her artistry shines through in each piece, where hand hammering techniques transform raw metal into exquisite jewelry. From plant-inspired forms to intricate insect and animal motifs, each item is a testament to her passion for gardening. The hammered textures and flowing designs serve as both functional art, and a reminder of the natural world’s significance.

"My work merges the artistry and tradition of silversmithing with a deep reverence for nature, showcasing the beauty and significance of plants, animals and insects through meticulously crafted art jewelry. By utilizing hammering techniques like chasing and repousse, I mean to not only honor the rich heritage of the craft but also elevate the natural world, allowing each piece to serve as both a functional item and a poignant reminder of our connection to the environment. This approach not only celebrates the aesthetic qualities of silver, copper and gold, but also highlights the intrinsic value of the natural elements that inspire my creations"

"As an avid gardener, I am fascinated by the miniature world I find in my pollinator garden everyday. From tiny bees to large moths, indiscriminate tiny flowers to large in your face lilies; it is a microcosm of life, with important characters awash in patterns and colors unseen to most human eyes. I find myself sitting in the garden allowing this tiny world to overtake me, and that is where I find my inspiration." -Danielle
